Foil systems considered to be one of the most difficult sections in shipbuilding. Since the surfaces of large dimensions and masses specific for hull structures are to be processed with accuracy applied in machine building.

Hydrofoil ships and hydrofoil vessels built by “Morye” were and still remain the main part of its production program. “Morye” have constructed about 100 foil systems for hydrofoils of “Raketa”, “Kometa”, “Olympia”, “Cyclone” types as well as for the boats and ships of military purpose.

When manufacturing foils the special high- strength and corrosion- resistant materials and extra high tensile titanium alloys are used.

For example, to make the foil (for “Olympia” hydrofoil vessel) which was of an original structure and had 12 m in length application of electron-beam welding was required.

During several years FSC “Morye” was completing orders for construction of special deep submerged foils from titanium alloy. Some of the foils were ordered as experimental ones and the others – for passenger catamarans. These passenger vessels reach the speed of 55 knots.

The biggest foil system (12 х 6,5м) was delivered for a customer in USA in August 2003. While completing the order FSC “Morye” pioneered the use of original technology for foils elements manufacture.

Now “Morye” has obtained a new order for construction of a foil system. New technical and engineering solutions will be applied again.
